Donors coordination meeting on cybersecurity was held in Tbilisi
13 February 2024The donors coordination meeting on cybersecurity, organized by the National Security Council’s Office was held in Tbilisi.
Representatives of the embassies of the United Kingdom, the USA, Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark, Estonia and Japan as well as the Delegation of the European Union, the NATO Liaison Office and state agencies in Georgia participated in the event.
The donors coordination meeting was opened by the Deputy Head of the National Security Council’s Office, Giorgi Ghibradze. "It is extremely important to determine the priorities that the leading agencies operating in the field of cybersecurity in Georgia have. For this purpose, it was decided to organize an annual coordination meeting, to ensure a full compliance between the development promotion programs implemented by the donors and the specific needs of Georgian state agencies," said Giorgi Ghibradze.
During the conference, representatives of the leading agencies in the field of cybersecurity discussed the priorities and implementation process of the activities defined by the Action Plan of Cybersecurity Strategy 2021-2024. In this regard, the importance of support from donor organizations was emphasized.
During the years the coordination of donors in the field of cybersecurity has been conducted by the UK Embassy. In November 2023, this function was handed over to the NSC Office. The annual coordination meeting of donors was held with the support of the "UK-Georgia Cyber Partnership Program”.
